The J05E is a high-performance diesel engine developed by Hino for the Chinese market. A 4-cylinder turbocharged intercooled engine with high-pressure common-rail electronic direct injection, it has a bore of 112mm, stroke of 130mm, and 5.123L displacement.

Rated at 131kW (178PS) at 2,100r/min with a max speed of 2,200r/min and 18:1 compression ratio, it uses Denso’s new high-pressure common-rail injection system and EGR, achieving noise reduction, vibration control, and fuel efficiency via multi-stage injection while cutting PM and NOx emissions. Its DOC+DPF aftertreatment requires no urea, lowering costs. Built with Hino’s HMMS (micro-mix combustion) and cast iron piston technology, it ensures durability for excavators, mining machinery, and other off-road applications.
